A lovingly restored old farmhouse among the vines of the Languedoc wine country. Perched on a ridge, it has magnificent views from both sides, but is surrounded by mature trees, giving a sense of privacy. 2km from a village with shops, bars and restaurants. Five bedrooms, sleeping 9/10, four bathrooms, three sitting rooms, terraces, balconies and a swimming pool make it perfect for the indoor/outdoor summer life. All the ground floor rooms open directly onto the garden. The restoration has preserved the cool terracotta-tiled interior, and left the stone walls, beams, and vaulted ceilings exposed. Old trees - pine, lime, palm, fig - and lavender, thyme and rosemary fill the garden with the perfumes of summer. |

The vast master bedroom is air conditioned. |
|
Opening off the master bedroom is this delightful balcony with views over the surrounding countryside. A great place for breakfast. |

Also off the master bedroom is this veranda with magnificent views in three directions. |

The swimming pool is the place for sunbathing. |
|
|
|
The pool is secluded, and set slightly away from the house, below the garden. |

The garden is filled with the typical scented flowers, herbs and plants of the region. |

One of the bedrooms is in a separate air conditioned guest house in the garden. It's on the same level as the garden, making access for anyone who isn't too steady on their feet as easy as possible. |

2 km away is the village, with lots of facilities. Five boulangeries, two convenience stores, two bars, four restaurants, a butcher, a fish shop, a pharmacy, a newsagent and a Friday morning market. |

It's 7 km to a bigger town (just visible in the distance from this balcony) with supermarkets, banks and a really good wine merchant. |
